Medical costs, food, cleaning supplies, and daily maintenance are the majority of our expenses. Medical costs can include bloodwork, a daily dose of medication, and routine vet care. Without the generosity of donors, we could not give them the care and support they need. Even the smallest donation helps. We will also cover the expense of euthanasia ($200 average cost) when it is clear that an animal’s quality of life has come to an end.
There are times when we will need funds not only for medical care but for items needed to run a sanctuary. Examples are fencing repairs, a second washer/dryer, bedding, clothing, transport, and professional grooming for some breeds, to keep their skin, hair, or fur hygienic, healthy, and free of mats. As these needs come up, and if we cannot cover the expense for ourselves, we will reach out to our supporters for help.
At Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary, our mission is simple, to give every senior dog a loving, comfortable home for the rest of their life.
We’re a Hudson Valley–based nonprofit animal sanctuary dedicated to providing medical care, rehabilitation, and transportation for senior rescue dogs across the country.
With rising vet and transportation costs, we rely on your support to continue saving lives and offering lifelong comfort to aging pets who have nowhere else to go.

Senior Dog Medical Funds – Covers exams, medications, surgeries, and chronic condition care like arthritis and heart disease.

Transportation for Rescue Dogs – Helps us safely bring senior dogs from overcrowded shelters and across state lines to our sanctuary in New York.

Special Nutrition & Comfort Care – Supports specialized diets, mobility aids, and cozy living spaces for our residents.
Every donation directly supports our 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue, ensuring each senior dog gets a second chance at love and dignity.
