Trixie is about 15 years old now, and is one of our original residents. She was here with her cousin Norton, but he passed a few years back. We don't know much about her background, but she came to us from the good folks at For Bake's Sake Rescue on Staten Island. Originally, she was a foster of Megan O'Malley, along with Norton and two others, all from the same home. She has been "toothless" as long as we have had her, which is why her tongue hangs as it does. But this does not keep her from being a hardy eater. She is charming, sweet and a "fan favorite." When we take selected dogs to meet people at the Farmers' Markets or other events, we always take her. Folks cannot get enough of her charm, her protruding tongue and her ability to stay on her hind feet for treats. She has won First Place twice, two years in a row, at local Halloween Dog Parades. And in 2024, she made it to the front page of the Halloween edition of The Times Union. She's easy going, had no major medical issues to date (knock wood!!) and is an all-around perfect senior.
