Help us care for the pets that need us most.
Thank you for your interest in the MLSPS Volunteer Program! Every helping hand makes a difference for senior pets.
Our sanctuary provides a loving forever home for senior dogs and other senior pets who have been left behind, abandoned, or surrendered through no fault of their own. Many of the animals who come to Moose Lodge are older, medically fragile, or in need of extra patience, comfort, and care.
Volunteers help us give these sweet souls the love, attention, and support they deserve. Whether you want to help at events, support our senior pets, assist behind the scenes, or use your creative skills to help tell their stories, we would be grateful to have you as part of the Moose Lodge family.
We welcome kind, compassionate, and dependable people of all backgrounds!
Requirements
✅ Volunteers must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
✅ Volunteers must have access to email so we can share updates, schedules, forms, and important information.
✅ Volunteers should be kind, dependable, and able to work well with staff, other volunteers, and members of the public.
✅ Volunteers should be able to commit to the time needed for their role. Time commitments may vary depending on the opportunity.
Donations to help cover volunteer gear, such as t-shirts, nametags, or event materials, are always welcome and appreciated.
MEET & GREET
Our volunteer program coordinator will reach out via email provided, and invite you to connect for a quick meet & greet to discuss current MLSPS opportunities and schedule any additional onsite or virtual training.
Orientation
The potential volunteer will learn duties specific to their volunteer position through hands-on or virtual training with MLSPS staff as well as what to expect as a MLSPS volunteer depending on the role and fit.

After completing all the previous steps, you will need to complete a volunteer onboarding form prior to starting on your role, and scheduling for shifts. This program is evolving! So we appreciate your patience and support as we explore growth together 🤍
Do you love social media, photography, video, writing, design, or storytelling?
Our MediaPup Team helps Moose Lodge share the stories of our senior pets with the world.
This may include helping with:
-
Photos and short videos at events
-
Social media posts and captions
-
Blog stories about our senior pets
-
Volunteer spotlights
-
Fundraiser updates
-
Newsletter content
-
Website updates
-
Canva graphics
-
Community event recaps
Every photo, video, story, and shared post helps people understand our mission and connect with the animals in our care. You do not need to be a professional. If you are creative, kind, reliable, and willing to help tell these stories with care, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteer Perks
Volunteers have the opportunity to support a meaningful mission while building real-world experience in areas such as marketing, communications, media, social page planning, content creation, photography, video, graphic design, website managament, blogging, newsletters, event support, fundraising, digital organization, and nonprofit communications.
For those interested, we also provide online training and mentorship to help volunteers grow their skills, build portfolio pieces, and gain experience they can use in school, work, or future career opportunities. Most importantly, volunteers become part of a caring community helping senior pets receive the love, comfort, and dignity they deserve.
