As March unfolds its petals, we are embarking on a heartfelt mission close to our hearts. This month, we're rallying support for Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary, a sanctuary that provides a loving haven for abandoned senior pets. But this isn’t just any fundraiser; it's a celebration of compassion and a tribute to our co-CEO, Deborah White, as we honor her birthday by furthering the mission she holds dear to her heart.
Our goal? To raise $2000 to address urgent needs within our sanctuary. Over the past year and a half, Moose Lodge has become a beacon of hope for senior pets in need. With twelve seniors currently under our roof and six others being lovingly cared for by our dedicated Community Liaison, Megan O'Malley, we've made it our mission to provide comfort and companionship in their golden years.
But our journey hasn't been without its challenges. Despite our unwavering dedication, our medical funds have run dry, leaving us struggling to afford even the most necessities like medications and hospice care. Additionally, the transportation costs for senior pets in need from other states average around $500 per dog, a financial burden we can no longer shoulder alone. This leaves these precious animals facing the heartbreaking fate of euthanasia if not adopted.
