Welcoming Mindy and Ginger to Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary

Updated: Oct 23

At Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary, we believe every dog deserves a second chance at love and comfort, especially our senior canine companions. We’re thrilled to introduce the newest members of our sanctuary family—Mindy and Ginger, a bonded pair of sweet Shih Tzus who have already captured our hearts.

Mindy and Ginger’s Journey to Moose Lodge

Mindy and Ginger, aged ten and nine, came to us through the incredible work of Deep South Canine Rescue in Ellaville, Georgia. Like so many of the dogs we care for, their story is one of resilience and hope. These two adorable Shih Tzus likely spent much of their lives as breeders. When they could no longer fulfill that role, they were sadly abandoned, left with no backstory or history, outside the doors of Deep South.

Despite this heartbreaking situation, the dedicated team at Deep South didn’t hesitate. They stepped in, bringing both dogs up to date on vaccinations and health care. Mindy, unfortunately, had an eye infection that was too severe to treat, leading to the removal of her eye. Thanks to Deep South and the compassionate foster family that cared for them, Mindy and Ginger received the love, care, and healing they needed to begin their new chapter.

Finding a Forever Home at Moose Lodge

We are honored to be Mindy and Ginger’s forever family here at Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary. From the moment they arrived, it was clear that these two sweethearts were ready to settle in. Despite everything they’ve been through, they have adapted quickly to life at the sanctuary. They’ve already learned the household routines and made fast friends with our other senior residents, proving that dogs have an incredible capacity for love and resilience.

What makes Mindy and Ginger even more special is their bond. They are inseparable, always by each other’s side, and we’re so happy to be able to keep them together in their forever home.

Supporting Senior Dogs in Need

We believe every dog, no matter their age or past, deserves to live out their golden years in peace and happiness. We rely on the generosity of our community to continue this important work. Whether it’s through food donations, medical support, or even spreading the word about our sanctuary, every bit helps.

Why Senior Dogs?

Senior dogs are often overlooked in shelters and rescues, but we believe they are some of the most rewarding pets to care for. These dogs may be a little slower, a little grayer, but their hearts are full of love and gratitude. Dogs like Mindy and Ginger remind us of the beauty of giving a second chance to those who need it most.

By adopting or supporting senior dogs, you’re helping provide them with the comfort and care they deserve in their twilight years. They may be in the last chapters of their lives, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have plenty of love left to give.

Welcome Home, Mindy and Ginger!

We couldn’t be happier to have Mindy and Ginger as part of the Moose Lodge family. They’ve already brought so much joy to our sanctuary, and we’re excited to see them thrive in their new home. Welcome home, sweet girls—you’re finally where you belong.

Support Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary If you’re interested in helping us continue our mission, you can donate, volunteer, or simply help us spread the word about the importance of adopting and caring for senior dogs. Every little bit makes a big difference in the lives of dogs like Mindy and Ginger.
